Montreal’s Bibi Club has shared their mesmerizing rendition of Stereolab’s ‘Orgiastic,’ a highlight from the upcoming deluxe edition of Feu de garde (les braises), set for release on May 9 via Secret City Records.

The duo, consisting of Adèle Trottier-Rivard and Nicolas Basque, remain faithful to the original while adding their own hypnotic instrumental layers, transforming the track into a dreamy, atmospheric piece. The cover holds a deep personal connection for Trottier-Rivard, who recalls, “Stereolab has been a landmark band in my life. Seven years ago, I created a mixtape to accompany me throughout labor. Meaningful, liberating songs. My child was born to ‘Orgiastic’ by Stereolab. That moment, out of time and space, will belong to me forever. Our version of the song carries that strength. We wanted to pay tribute to this legendary band.”

The track is part of Feu de garde (les braises), a deluxe reissue of Bibi Club’s acclaimed 2024 album Feu de garde, which includes four new songs and a reworked version of ‘you can wear a jacket or a shirt’ featuring Calvin Johnson. Fans can also look forward to the duo’s live performances, including their debut at Montreal’s Osheaga Festival in August and select Canadian tour dates this spring.
