AVAION and Sofiya Nzau unite afro and electro-soul in ‘Wacuka’
German electronic artist AVAION and Kenyan vocalist Sofiya Nzau have joined forces to create ‘Wacuka,’ a collaboration blending Afro and electro-soul.
‘Wacuka’ first captured fans’ attention during AVAION’s For The Vibes live Fall 2024 tour, with clips of the track accumulating over 24 million views on social media. The anticipation only grew as major artists like Calvin Harris and &ME expressed their admiration. Now officially released, the single delivers on its promise, immersing listeners in a lush auditory journey.
Sofiya Nzau reflects on the song’s narrative, stating:
“‘Wacuka’ is about the tension between choosing to follow tradition and expressing individuality. It’s a feeling that resonates with many, but I wanted to capture both the struggle and the hope in the lyrics.”
