AtticOmatic drift further into dreamy folk-tinged pop on ‘Lewin’ ahead of Between Two EP
AtticOmatic release their new single ‘Lewin,’ the second teaser from their sophomore EP Between Two, due 20th March. The Brighton quintet continues to define their place within the UK dream-pop and indie-folk landscape with the latest release, out now ahead of a run of headline tour dates and festival appearances.
Rich with off-kilter time signatures, folky guitar rushes, and euphoric dream-pop textures, ‘Lewin’ builds on the groundwork laid by January single ‘Burrow’ and last spring’s Fold the World EP. The track leans into the band’s winding structures and leftfield turns, moving fluidly between post-rock, dream-pop, indie, folk, and jazz. Confessional themes of grief, aging, and self-fulfilment remain central, shaped by experiences of adult diagnoses of Autism and ADHD. The result is a new single that feels expansive yet intimate, grounded in layered instrumentation and melodic restraint.
Speaking more about the latest single, Kamran Kaur (vocals, synth) says:
“Lewin isn’t necessarily one person to me. The Old English name means ‘dear friend,’ but that could also refer to a part of yourself that feels estranged from you. ‘Lewin’ is something or someone lacking and you don’t know how you could have possibly lost them.”
‘Lewin’ is available now to stream on all platforms.
We’ve covered AtticOmatic previously: ‘Two Alarms.’
