Arny Margret shares double single ‘I Love You / Greyhound Station’

‘I Love You / Greyhound Station’ offers an intimate glimpse into her forthcoming album, I Miss You, I Do, set for release on March 7, 2025, via One Little Independent Records.
Built around graceful melodies and delicate pedal steel, ‘I Love You’ is a heartfelt tribute to Margret’s mother. Co-produced with longtime collaborator Guðmundur “Kiddi” Kristinn Jónsson, the track captures the emotional weight of reunion and nostalgia. Accompanying the single is a video directed by Erlendur Sveinsson, filmed at an empty Reykjavík Airport—a location deeply tied to Margret’s personal history. Shot on 16mm film, the video enhances the song’s wistful atmosphere, visually mirroring its themes of longing and homecoming.
Margret shares:
“I wrote ‘I Love You’ for my mom. I went to visit her after I hadn’t seen her for a long time, I didn’t realise I missed her until I met her again. It’s about her and her childhood home, the farm she grew up on, it’s a song for her. It’s a song I really love.”
In contrast, ‘Greyhound Station’ delves into themes of homesickness and unresolved emotions. The track marks Margret’s first collaboration with producer Brad Cook (Bon Iver, Waxahatchee, Hurray For The Riff Raff), recorded in an impromptu session after weeks on tour. The song’s raw honesty and storytelling reflect the transient life of an artist, capturing the tension between the pull of home and the drive to move forward.
With I Miss You, I Do on the horizon, Margret continues to push her artistry into new sonic and emotional depths. ‘I Love You / Greyhound Station’ sets the stage for an album that promises to be both deeply personal and universally resonant.
