Icons of Malian music, Amadou & Mariam, renowned for their illustrious multi-platinum career spanning nearly 50 years, announce the release of their latest single ‘Mogolu.’ Meaning “people” in Bambara, Mogolu is an empowering invitation to dance, echoing Amadou & Mariam’s longstanding commitment to global peace. Mariam’s ethereal vocals combined with irresistible Afro-beat rhythms create a toe-tapping anthem.
The music video for ‘Mogolu,’ filmed amidst the vibrant streets of Dakar, features the talented French dancer Akamz, known for his massive following on TikTok with over 24 million followers. Shot by director Ojoz in Dakar, the music video for ‘Mogolu’ captures the city’s infectious energy while showcasing Akamz’s mesmerizing dance moves.
With a release date slated for fall 2024, the album pays homage to Amadou & Mariam’s enduring legacy as Africa’s most beloved duo and their profound influence on shaping the contemporary African music landscape.
