Indianapolis hip hop trio 81355 have returned with ‘Guitar,’ the dynamic and genre-defying lead single from their newly announced sophomore album Bad Dogs, out July 11th, 2025 via Joyful Noise Recordings.

‘Guitar’ is an urgent, layered track that pushes beyond traditional hip-hop structures, embracing distortion, melody, and raw poeticism. With a sound as jagged as it is deliberate, the single serves as a bold thesis statement for what’s to come on Bad Dogs. The accompanying self-directed video finds the group immersed in the eccentric atmosphere of Indiana’s annual James Dean Festival, reflecting the state’s idiosyncratic charm and the group’s outsider perspective.

Sirius Blvck explains:

“‘Guitar’ is a distorted love letter to the expansive edges of hip-hop. It’s a track that embodies the spirit of the album—raw, layered, and uncompromising. We’re carving out our own interpretation of sound for artists like us to thrive in. The path we’re on is nonlinear and often jagged, but that’s the beautiful reality of creating something new.”

Bad Dogs follows the group’s 2021 debut This Time I’ll Be of Use and expands its sound with a collaborative, live-recorded approach featuring a full band. The album captures a sense of endurance and celebration, rooted in community and Midwestern grit.

‘Guitar’ is available now on your favorite DSP.
