44 Ardent returns with the emotional and expansive single ‘Hold On (Forever)’

Australian producer 44 Ardent has unveiled his latest single, ‘Hold On (Forever),’ out now via Mammal Sounds Records.
‘Hold On (Forever)’ is a lush and immersive listen that balances euphoric energy with introspective depth. Drawing inspiration from artists like Caribou, Jamie xx, and Tourist, 44 Ardent builds a sonic landscape that feels both intimate and grand. The track’s emotional core is anchored by a towering, wall-of-sound drop—a hallmark of his production style that harks back to his formative SoundCloud-era roots.
44 Ardent explains:
“I’ve always loved a big, emotional, wall-of-sound drop with lots of elements and complexity. Back then, people would literally scan the waveform and skip straight to the drop, so artists put a lot of energy into making that first moment hit hard. These days, it feels like hooks at the very start are more important, but for me, old habits die hard.”
‘Hold On (Forever)’ is out now via Mammal Sounds Records.
We’ve covered 44 Ardent previously: ‘Wake Up,’ and ‘Curtain Call.’
