From our favorite artists who have been delivering killer albums for years to the rising musicians just starting to break through, these are the ten albums to look forward to in November 2023.
bar italia: The Twits
Release Date: November 3
The Twits is a musical journey recorded by the trio over eight weeks in a makeshift home studio in Mallorca during February 2023, mixed by Marta Salogni. Bar italia’s songcraft balances economy and evocativeness, taking listeners through raucous, mystic, unkempt, and occasionally sinister twists with unwavering commitment. Tracks like ‘my little tony,’ ‘world’s greatest emoter,’ and ‘Hi-fiver’ deliver exhilarating rock experiences, showcasing their unique and eccentric style. The album also features the band’s signature three-act mini-dramas exploring uncharted musical territory, where Cristante, Fehmi, and Fenton seamlessly transition between melodies and moods. ‘Jelsy’ offers a heartfelt conversation amid wistful country blues, while ‘twist’ invites each member’s confessional take with its bare lyricism.

Beirut: Hadsel
Release Date: November 10
Zach Condon has revealed the upcoming release of a new album by Beirut, titled Hadsel, scheduled to drop on November 10 via Condon’s own label, Pompeii Records. Condon penned this new album during his stay on the island of Hadsel in northern Norway, where he was granted access to the local Hadselkirke—an early 19th-century wooden octagonal structure housing a church organ. In a statement, Condon reflected on his time in Hadsel, “During my time in Hadsel, I worked hard on the music, lost in a trance and stumbling blindly through my own mental collapse that I had been pushing aside since I was a teenager,” the musician said in a statement. “It came and rang me like a bell. I was left agonising many things past and present while the beauty of the nature, the northern lights, and fearsome storms played an awesome show around me.”
Chris Stapleton: – Higher
Release Date: November 10
Higher marks the forthcoming fifth studio album by American musician Chris Stapleton, set for release on November 10, 2023, via Mercury Nashville. Cure and Derek Mixon, alongside Paul Franklin and Lee Pardini. In a press release, the album is described as transcending genres and defying easy categorization.
Aesop Rock: – Integrated Tech Solutions
Release Date: November 11
For almost three decades, Aesop Rock has adeptly harnessed contemporary language to reveal the underlying flaws in each era’s seemingly stable foundation. In his tenth album, Integrated Tech Solutions, he wields the deceptive jargon of corporate culture as a tool to disentangle this parasitic worldview from the aspects of life that genuinely matter. The concept album explores an organization offering “lifestyle- and industry-specific applications designed to curate a desired multi-experience.” Within Integrated Tech Solutions, Aesop Rock dissects the pretentious language employed by app developers, who position themselves on a continuum stretching from cavemen to da Vinci. The track ‘Mindful Solutionism’ seamlessly connects the evolution of the wheel to modern agriculture, and then to atomic bombs, Agent Orange, cigarettes, and surveillance cameras. In a rare moment of transparency, the engineers, channeled through Aesop’s voice, succinctly summarize this spiral with the words, “We cannot be trusted with the stuff that we come up with.”
PinkPantheress: – Heaven Know
Release Date: November 11
PinkPantheress is gearing up to release her debut studio album titled Heaven Knows. Set for release on November 10, 2023, through Warner UK, this highly anticipated album follows her 2021 mixtape, To Hell with It, and will feature singles like ‘Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2’ with Ice Spice, ‘Mosquito,” and ‘Capable of Love.’ In an interview leading up to the release PinkPantheress stated the project is as “accumulation of music [she has] made over the last two years”, and is thematically about “being at peace with yourself in your aloneness” as well as “journeying from hell into purgatory, but I’m OK with being there.”
Blockhead: – The Aux
Release Date: November 17
Blockhead’s forthcoming album, The Aux, set to be released on November 17, 2023, serves as a resounding exclamation point on Backwoodz Studioz’s already remarkable year. This album also marks Blockhead’s return to the world of rap, following his 2021 collaboration with Aesop Rock on Garbology. In The Aux, the seasoned producer takes on the role of a musical matchmaker, bringing together some of his favorite artists. The result is a hip-hop All-Star game of an album, featuring highlight-reel dunks, alley-oops, and deep three-pointers coming at a breakneck pace. With billy woods as an executive producer, Blockhead and woods have curated a tracklist that seamlessly unites artists from different eras and scenes in the indie hip-hop landscape.
Lil Wayne & 2 Chainz: – Welcome 2 ColleGrove
Release Date: November 17
Welcome 2 Collegrove is the upcoming collaborative studio album by American rappers 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne, set for release on November 17, 2023, under the Def Jam Recordings label. The album serves as a sequel to 2 Chainz’s third studio album, ColleGrove (2016), originally planned as a Lil Wayne duet album but faced label-related co-credit issues. Notably, the title cleverly fuses the hometowns of the two artists, with 2 Chainz hailing from College Park, Georgia, and Lil Wayne from Hollygrove, New Orleans. Originally intended to be released on the same date as Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2, the album’s release date impacted Minaj’s decision to postpone her album to December 8.
