Chinese American Bear’s ‘Turn Up The Radio’ arrives as the latest new single release from the Seattle-based duo, out now via Moshi Moshi Records, previewing their upcoming album Dim Sum & Then Some, due May 8th.

‘Turn Up The Radio’ continues the band’s run of upbeat, genre-blurring indie pop, blending elements from mandopop, indie pop, and electronic styles. The track leans into bright, bubblegum melodies, subtly offset by layered, experimental production. Built around a playful structure, it incorporates bilingual lyricism, psychedelic textures, synth-driven elements, and pop-forward hooks.

Barsten explains:

“We often write these songs that verge on being kids songs, and this is one of them. I love this contrast of it sounding so childish, but then we do things in the production that throw it off from being real ‘Kids Music.’ ‘Turn Up The Radio’ is like a kids song for adults, a line we often like to blur. It’s all sunshine and good vibes, a true bop, bubble-gum pop, with a hint of psychedelic sunshine magic.”

Out now, ‘Turn Up The Radio’ encapsulates Chinese American Bear’s innovative sound, merging catchy pop with inventive production, and sets the stage for the highly anticipated album release.

We’ve covered Chinese American Bear previously: ‘Mama,’ ‘All The People (所有人),’ ‘Forever Lover (永远的爱人)’,’ ‘Kids Go Down 孩子们的时光,’ ‘Take Me to Beijing (一起回北京),’ ‘Yummy Yummy Yummy (好吃好吃).’
