Lal Tuna explores anxiety and intimacy on ‘Afternoon Tram’
Out now, Lal Tuna’s ‘Afternoon Tram’ has been released as the fourth and final single from her debut album DON’T FORGET ME, due June 5 via The Velvet Bride (via Modulor Music) and Nothing Is Mine.
On ‘Afternoon Tram,’ the Istanbul-born, France-based singer-songwriter and producer leans into a blend of countrygaze and folk influences, continuing the genre-fluid approach that defines her work. The track unfolds through a restrained and questioning structure, built around a series of hesitant inquiries directed at a lover. The arrangement remains minimal and emotionally focused, allowing the tension to build as the narrator searches for connection and reassurance. As the song progresses, it centers on repetition, culminating in the line “Do you understand me?” which underscores the single’s focus on anxiety and communication.
‘Afternoon Tram’ is available now to stream on all platforms.
We’ve covered Lal Tuna previously: ‘Don’t Forget Me,’ ‘Car Crashes,’ and ‘Television Forever.’
