Robber Robber capture chaos and cool on new single ‘New Year’s Eve’
Burlington quartet Robber Robber — Nina Cates (vocals/guitar), Zack James (percussion), Will Krulak (guitar), and Carney Hemler (bass) — share their latest single ‘New Year’s Eve’ ahead of their new album Two Wheels Move the Soul, out April 3rd via Fire Talk Records.
‘New Year’s Eve’ opens with a swaggering guitar line before layering Cates’ nonchalant vocals over kinetic percussion and warped textures. The song reflects on life’s everyday challenges, capturing a sense of exhaustion and resignation with the refrain: “Yes I know, gotta work for my pay… I’m tired, so is everyone – how can I complain?”
Cates explains:
“Some of our songs start out as the four of us jamming together and this one was like that.”
‘New Year’s Eve’ is available now to stream and download across all major platforms, with Two Wheels Move the Soul arriving April 3rd via Fire Talk Records.
We’ve covered Robber Robber previously: ‘Pieces,’ ‘Watch For Infection,’ ‘The Sound It Made,’ ‘Suspicious Minds‘ and ‘Talkback.’
