Anya Anastasia releases her new single ‘Burrow,’ out now. The track was self-production with co-production by Lucinda Machin and mastered by Katie Tavini at Weird Jungle Mastering.

On ‘Burrow’ Anastasia blends off-kilter indie rock with experimental folk, psych, and desert rock influences. Shredding guitars interact with hooky vocal melodies, while cello, guitar, and layered vocals evoke textures of the natural world. The single follows the dramatic lead single, ‘Two Halves,’ and continues Anya’s exploration of layered art-rock textures, highlighting her skill as a multi-instrumentalist and producer.

Discussing the themes behind ‘Burrow,’ Anya Anastasia explains:

“Our biology shifts with the vibrant rhythms of the seasons – from borrowing, gathering, scurrying in Autumn, to comforting, burrowing, hibernating in Winter, to bursting forth into the much-craved sunshine of Spring.

“All these instincts are heightened by the technicolour dreamstate of the arrival of a new child, and the becoming of a family. A time when all the wild gathers in close, and ancient secrets reveal themselves anew with miraculous force and presence.”

‘Burrow’ is available now on all streaming platforms.
