Molina blurs live and electronic textures on ‘Golden Brown Sugar’
Molina releases ‘Golden Brown Sugar,’ out now on Escho, as the Danish-Chilean producer and composer prepares for upcoming tour dates across major cities in North America and Europe.
On ‘Golden Brown Sugar,’ Molina stays close to the listener, layering percussion, drums, and bending guitar chords while evoking a rural night atmosphere with cicadas and chiming rhythms. The track unfolds through chopped and reassembled percussive arrangements, blurring the line between live performance and electronic manipulation. Acoustic recordings and programmed drum patterns intersect, with elements recorded live, transferred to samplers, and re-performed to retain an authentic sonic character while adopting a more mechanical feel.
About the track, Molina shares:
“I just really love to record and chop up any odd percussion or drum instrument – and make it cross over with me into a bended and layered guitar-world.”
‘Golden Brown Sugar’ is now available on Escho and can be streamed on all platforms.
