St.Arnaud shares soul-infused single ‘Love You! (For Real)’ ahead of self-titled LP
St.Arnaud release their new single ‘Love You! (For Real)’ as the first taste of the upcoming self-titled album St.Arnaud, due out April 2026 via Cordova Bay Records.
‘Love You! (For Real)’ is a groove-driven indie pop track rooted in white-soul influences, addressing the ambiguity and fleeting nature of modern social connection. The song centers on insincere, alcohol-fueled declarations of friendship that rarely extend beyond the moment, framing its commentary with warmth and subtle humor. Built on jazzy brass accents, a steady rhythm section, and relaxed momentum, the track balances lyrical skepticism with an inviting, vintage-leaning sound. Ian St.Arnaud’s vocals sit lightly over the arrangement, navigating irony and sincerity without overstating either.
Speaking about the song’s concept, Ian St.Arnaud explains:
“The idea of the song was to wrestle with sincerity, to poke fun at your new friend at the bar, telling you how much they love you (they don’t!) and want to hang out soon (you won’t!).” He notes that the song found its footing as a white-soul track, a choice that “both gives it conviction and adds to the joke.”
