Dutch Interior release their new single ‘Ground Scores’ alongside a video, and announce their upcoming EP It’s Glass, out March 6 via Fat Possum. The Southern California six-piece continues to build on their evolving sound with the first official look at the new five-track release.

‘Ground Scores’ finds Dutch Interior leaning into a cautiously optimistic approach, pairing straightforward songwriting with a sense of emotional ambiguity. The track operates as a love song at its core, but one shaped by uncertainty and fleeting moments of clarity. Musically, it reflects the band’s expanded palette, drawing from their recent sessions at Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco. Recorded in a space once used by artists such as Neil Young, the Grateful Dead, and Willie Nelson, the new environment allowed the group to experiment with organ and grand piano while maintaining the intimate, homespun qualities that define their work. The result is a song that feels measured and open-ended, grounded in melody while allowing space for reflection.

The band comments:

“‘Ground Scores’ is a love song, but it’s also a song about stumbling through the end times into something good. It was inspired by finding something valuable and unexpected on the ground one night. I realized that this chance occurrence represented how life felt when things were going well: finite happiness left behind by someone else, only to be inevitably depleted.”

‘Ground Scores’ is available now to stream on all platforms.
