Alberta Cross return with driving new single ‘Toy Soldiers’
Alberta Cross release their new single ‘Toy Soldiers’ today, marking their first new music of the year and arriving via Alberta Cross Music / LabelNotLabel, distributed by Kartel Music Group.
‘Toy Soldiers’ is a tightly coiled, rhythm-forward track that captures Alberta Cross at their most immediate and restless. Produced by Luke Potashnick (The Temperance Movement) at Wool Hall Studios, the single leans into rapid, jagged keys, hypnotic guitar lines, and tightly locked drums. The production is raw but controlled, allowing the band’s dynamic interplay to carry the track while reinforcing its central themes of uncertainty and tension.
Discussing the lyrical themes behind the single, vocalist and lyricist Petter Ericson Stakee says:
“There’s a heaviness running through the track, but it wasn’t something we chased – it’s just the world bleeding into the music. The song wrestles with uncertainty, but it doesn’t fake solutions. Recorded as a raw power trio with members from The Vaccines and The Temperance Movement at the legendary Wool Hall Studios (The Smiths, Tears For Fears).”
‘Toy Soldiers’ is out now and available to stream on all major platforms.
