Australian artist JVLY has released ‘LOCUM’ (Lemonade Baby Remix), a new single out now via Mammal Sounds, marking the latest preview of his forthcoming SUNDER deluxe project. The remix is available to stream today and continues the rollout of reworked material from JVLY’s 2025 EP SUNDER.

The Lemonade Baby remix reframes ‘LOCUM’ with a brighter, more kinetic approach. Brisbane producer Lemonade Baby introduces buoyant rhythms, indie-dance energy, and breezy electronic textures, shifting the track away from its original introspective tone while preserving its emotional weight. The reimagining injects momentum and movement, offering a sharp contrast that still aligns with the song’s underlying tension. The remix highlights the duality at the heart of ‘LOCUM,’ striking a balance between warmth and melancholy through a club-leaning electronic lens.

“I met Brannon (Lemonade Baby) at SXSW, a few of us were just hanging out catching shows, and I was right in the middle of working on SUNDERLUXE when we started chatting about it. He mentioned he’d be keen to try take LOCUM into a new space, which to me straight away felt like such an interesting fit. His sound has a lot of soul but also has this fun sort of lightness and movement to it that really leans into the irony at the core of the song, so I was hyped to hear the idea. ‘LOCUM’ has always felt tender on the surface but actually it’s pretty brutal underneath, and this re-imagination doesn’t really soften that at all. If anything, it probably shines a brighter light on how untender it actually is.”

Lemonade Baby states:

“I met Kayle in Sydney during SXSW 2025, where he mentioned plans for a remix album tied to a record he’d released earlier that year. I asked if I could be involved, and he told me ‘LOCUM’ was his favourite track — and the only one yet to be remixed. After spending some time with the song, I decided to approach it from the opposite direction. The original is a slow, 6/4 R&B ballad, so I reimagined it as a fast, melancholic electronic track, reshaping its emotional core while keeping its spirit intact.”

‘LOCUM’ (Lemonade Baby Remix) is out now on all streaming services.

We’ve covered JVLY previously: ‘Drowning In My Room Remix,’ ‘Walked The Sun,’ ‘Drowning In My Room,’ ‘Locum,’ ‘South,’ ‘Haze,’ ‘Here,’ ‘Tacit‘ featuring Una Mey, ‘Ambien,’ and ‘Swim.’
