ZHU returns to the dancefloor with new single ‘BLACK MIDAS’
ZHU releases ‘BLACK MIDAS,’ the title track from his upcoming album BLACK MIDAS, out today, January 16, 2026, marking a return to his club-focused roots ahead of the full project’s March release.
GRAMMY-nominated producer and DJ ZHU has unveiled ‘BLACK MIDAS,’ the lead single and title track from his forthcoming album BLACK MIDAS. The new single is available now and sets the tone for an album built around late-night dancefloor narratives. Known for sleek synth melodies, heavy basslines, and moody atmospheres, ZHU leans into deep house and melodic techno on ‘BLACK MIDAS,’ crafting a track designed for immersive club settings while maintaining his signature dark elegance.
The release arrives alongside a short film produced in Istanbul, Turkey, directed by Luke Jaden. Visually and sonically, ‘BLACK MIDAS’ reflects the nocturnal energy that has defined much of ZHU’s DJ-driven evolution over the past year. The track draws from experiences on global stages, channeling tension, movement, and mood into a focused, club-forward production that signals a creative reset for the artist.
ZHU shares:
“In the beginning my music was intended for the dancefloor, and was the clubby part of my sound. For me, BLACK MIDAS is a return to why I first made music. Obviously, I’ve experimented and gone into different genres throughout my career, but I thought it was important for my new fans, my contemporaries, and also the new dance community, to understand that I came from that world from the beginning and am still a part of it. That’s why I made this record. What I’m doing now speaks to my core fans, but also to the core dance fans of today.”
‘BLACK MIDAS’ is out now on streaming platforms.
