Premiere: Abronia unveils new single ‘Gemini’ ahead of upcoming album Shapes Unravel
Abronia release their new single ‘Gemini’, out now, from the Portland-based band’s forthcoming LP Shapes Unravel, due February 20, 2026, via Cardinal Fuzz and Feeding Tube Records. The track arrives alongside an official video and marks the latest preview of the group’s fourth studio album.
‘Gemini’ captures Abronia at their most expansive, pairing the band’s signature blend of widescreen psychedelia, avant-jazz, doom, and acid-folk with new orchestral elements. The single introduces strings and flute for the first time in Abronia’s recorded output, adding depth and texture without softening the band’s physical, drum-led core. The arrangement moves between tension and release, mirroring the track’s thematic focus on division, collapse, and collective resolve. Anchored by hypnotic rhythm and layered instrumentation, the song maintains a sense of urgency while pushing the band’s sound into new territory.
Vocalist/sax player Keelin Mayer says:
“I was originally inspired by the would-be dictator’s astrological sign, and the way he’s destroying the country. I was also thinking about the duality that the astrological sign Gemini represents and the ecological collapse we are currently witnessing. Towards the conclusion of the track, we emerge from despair and band together to look for a way out.”
‘Gemini’ is now available on all major streaming platforms.
