Portuguese post-punk band Them Flying Monkeys release their new single ‘Big Boy’ via gig.ROCKS! and Only Lovers Records, arriving alongside the announcement of an extensive UK and EU tour kicking off in January 2026.

Pushing deeper into their club-leaning instincts while keeping their distortion-driven identity intact, Big Boy merges mechanical dance pulses with frantic guitars, heavy drums, and the raw edges that have defined the Sintra five-piece. The track channels indie-sleaze grit and post-punk aggression, capturing the tension between youth, responsibility, and the emotional noise that sits between them. Under industrial textures and groove-driven momentum, the band leans into a sound that feels both chaotic and sharply controlled.

The band reveals:

“‘Big Boy’ was supposed to be the weaker of two demos we took into the studio. It didn’t have a chorus, the ideas were still pretty raw, and most parts were missing instruments. But as we started tracking and reworking the structure, we got really excited about what was taking shape. We decided to release Big Boy first — probably intoxicated by the thrill of discovering what a song can become and watching it come to life.”

The band will take ‘Big Boy’ on the road beginning January 8, with shows in Bristol, London, Brighton, Paris, Rouen, Ghent, and a showcase slot at Eurosonic 2026 in Groningen on January 16, before closing the run in Hamburg on January 17.

‘Big Boy’ is available on all streaming platforms.
