Katy & the Null Sets, fronted by Foamboy’s Katy Ohsiek, are a Portland-based project blending witty introspection with genre-bending melodies. Their new music video for ‘Chlorine’ is out now.

Directed by Eli Staats, the ‘Chlorine’ video transforms the Oregon coast into a surreal canvas for reflection. Shot in April 2024, the video features Ohsiek covering herself in beach flotsam and found objects, visually expressing how memories and discarded fragments become entwined, echoing the emotional complexity explored in the song.

Ohsiek explains:

“It was shot somewhere on the Oregon coast (I don’t remember where!) in April 2024. Eli Staats is the director/editor/mastermind. I met them online on Lex (the queer community app), and we decided to make the video. They had been sitting on the concept of someone covering themselves in beach flotsam for a while—we decided this song would be a good fit for the idea! We went to the Goodwill bins to find all the little pieces of ephemera to place along the beach. Oliver King helped out with the shoot as well (who also worked on the ‘F*** me!’ video).”

‘Chlorine’ and Troublemaker are available now on all streaming platforms.
