Manchester noise-rock quartet Slowhandclap return with their hard-hitting new single ‘Horses In Transit,’ out now, reuniting with producer Samuel William Jones (Maruja, SLAP RASH). Released independently, the track expands on the band’s blend of abrasive post-punk energy and experimental noise textures.

‘Horses In Transit’ grows from skeletal beginnings into a towering, noise-rock behemoth. Built on slugging basslines, jarring tempo shifts, and circular riffs, the song captures the chaos of modern life while grasping for autonomy in the face of social and political unrest. Freakish synthesizers punctuate the tension, creating a sound that’s both volatile and cathartic—a fitting reflection of the instability the track seeks to confront.

Vocalist and guitarist Sam Bullock shares:

“The lyrics to the song were written in a very transitory point of my life. Emerging from a break up and a subsequent dark period I started to feel a sense of great freedom and possibility. Though this grimly was met by the limitations of the world we live in that keep us from realising our true needs and our potential. It’s about the innate freedom and desire of humanity and the economic circumstances, the crisis in housing and the state of unease in the world that often deprive us from realising it. Always in transition and never arriving.”

‘Horses In Transit’ is available now on all streaming platforms.
