Tōth debuts uplifting single ‘Not Broken’ and announces new album
Brooklyn songwriter and trumpet player Tōth (Alex Toth of Rubblebucket) has announced his new album And The Voice Said, a radiant and self-questioning record about surviving yourself. Alongside the announcement, Tōth has shared the euphoric lead single ‘Not Broken’ and its accompanying video, filmed on Coney Island.
Out now, ‘Not Broken’ is propelled by jaunty piano chords, bright horn flourishes, and Tōth’s affirming vocals, blending the buoyancy of pop with the sincerity of spiritual searching. Written as a love song to his inner child, the track embraces vulnerability through mantra-like repetition: “You’re not broken, you’re just blown wide open.” The video, directed by Daniel Fox and Maura (Momo & Fox), captures Tōth performing the song and connecting with strangers across Coney Island, a visual testament to the album’s theme of rediscovering humanity through connection.
On the track, Tōth shares:
“I wrote this as a message to myself: a response to my darkest feelings about life. I may not show it outwardly, but my default is to be a pretty fucking negative guy. So I selfishly wrote a song that would hopefully help me feel a little better from time to time. ‘Please take me to my body / I wanna be somebody / And the voice said…you’re not broken…you’re just lost in emotions.’ This video is part documentary and part narrative. We spent 4-5 days out there talking to people and singing and dancing with them.”
Co-produced by Grammy-nominated artist Caroline Rose and featuring Kimbra, the album arrives February 27, 2026, via Northern Spy and Egghunt Records. ‘Not Broken’ is available now on all streaming platforms.
