Blackwater Holylight shares expansive new single ‘Wandering Lost’
Los Angeles-based Blackwater Holylight have announced their new album Not Here Not Gone, due out January 30, 2026, via Suicide Squeeze Records. Alongside the news, the shoegaze-influenced heavy rock trio have shared the album’s lead single and video, ‘Heavy, Why?’
‘Heavy, Why?’ captures the band’s signature balance between ethereal melody and dense, doom-laden instrumentation. Built on moody riffs that crescendo into a fierce, electric climax, the track channels both emotional weight and sonic transcendence. The single continues the band’s evolution from their Portland roots toward a broader, more cinematic sound shaped by their relocation to Los Angeles.
Singer Sunny Faris explains the single’s intent:
“‘Heavy, Why?’ is a lyrically light and instrumentally heavy arrangement that cryptically but intentionally speaks to the experience of being disembodied and poses the question, simply, of: ‘Why? Why is it such a hard, lonely, agonizing, and heavy experience to be turned away from Self.'”
Not Here Not Gone is out January 30, 2026, via Suicide Squeeze Records. ‘Heavy, Why?’ is available now on all streaming platforms.
