Remember Sports crack open The Refrigerator with stirring new single ‘Bug’
Philadelphia indie rock band Remember Sports has announced their forthcoming album The Refrigerator, set for release on February 13, 2026, via Get Better Records. Alongside the announcement, the group has unveiled their newest single, ‘Bug,’ accompanied by an animated visual by Santi Slade.
Built on the band’s signature blend of frenetic guitars, sharp lyricism, and emotional honesty, ‘Bug’ captures the disarray and reflection that define Remember Sports’ songwriting. Frontperson Carmen Perry describes the song as born from the strange stillness of early pandemic days — messy, mundane, and quietly existential.
“Have you ever stepped on food on your bedroom floor that you haven’t eaten in many days? I wrote this song in the early part of the pandemic, when everyday felt like I was alive solely to make a mess and then clean it up. Or not. It’s hard to not think about the things you don’t wanna think about when you have nothing to do.”
‘Bug’ serves as an early glimpse into The Refrigerator, a record shaped by transformation, grief, and self-discovery. The album was written by Perry following 2021’s Like a Stone and features contributions from Julian Fader (drums), Catherine Dwyer (bass), and Jack Washburn (guitar). Recorded at Electrical Audio in Chicago shortly after the passing of Steve Albini, the self-produced LP carries both reverence and experimentation, weaving bagpipes, strings, and raw emotion into its sound.
The Refrigerator is out February 13, 2026, via Get Better Records. ‘Bug’ is available now on all streaming platforms.
