Skorts announce debut album Incompletement / release soaring single ‘Burden’

New York City’s Skorts have announced their debut album Incompletement, arriving October 31, and shared the powerful first single ‘Burden’ with an official video.
‘Burden’ showcases the band’s stadium-ready rock with a DIY edge, pressing the raw passion of their live shows into permanence. Hypnotic vocal heights drive the song forward as the band cathartically declares: “Whether it’s yours or mine, it’s an honor to bear your burden and that is as certain as the elements of this earth.” Directed by Nick Charnas, the accompanying video presents the human body in anatomically abstract ways, both beautiful and uncomfortable, and offers a striking contrast to the more playful visuals of their previous single ‘Eat Your Heart Out.’
On today’s single, lead guitarist Char Smith shares that ‘Burden’ is:
“A song from the VERY early days that fell out of our live rotation for a while and almost got completely swept under the rug but our producer, Teddy O’Mara, wanted to bring it back. It was one of the two original demos we released to SoundCloud (‘Cyclops Girlfriend’ being the other). There is a video of us playing it in its original form somewhere but the groove and structure really got refined in the studio. Alli recorded the main guitar riff on my ‘69 Gibson SG Special.”
With ‘Burden’ leading the charge, Skorts offer a powerful glimpse into Incompletement and the unrelenting energy they’re bringing to their biggest stages yet.
