Mallory Hawk shares debut single ‘Felicity’ ahead of 2026 solo album

Mallory Hawk has released her new single ‘Felicity,’ previewing her debut album due in 2026. The track drops as she readies for a UK tour with M(h)aol this fall.
Raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and now known as a veteran of New York’s DIY scene, Hawk has spent years playing bass and singing for acts like Trace Mountains, Customer, and M(h)aol. After deciding to step out on her own, Hawk began work on her solo record in Philadelphia with producer Sam Acchione [Alex G, Girlpuppy, Winter], which covers her punk, alt-rock, and new-wave influences.
‘Felicity’ expands on the quieter material Hawk released last year, venturing into heavier territory while hinting at the sonic diversity of her upcoming record. Featuring Craig Hendrix of Japanese Breakfast on drums and accompanied by a video directed by Nara Avakian of Nara’s Room, the single captures Hawk’s vision with both urgency and depth.
Sharing the inspiration behind the track, Hawk explains:
“I wrote ‘Felicity’ over a drum loop in my bedroom in August 2024. It was a few weeks before I was due to move from NYC after 7 years and I was constantly reflecting on the exhaustion and deep loneliness that led me to my exit. I started to feel like a fool in a monotonous loop as i walked around doing my errands, everyone around me seemed to be happier and richer while I was constantly scrambling for brief moments of escape (aka “Felicity”). This all plays out in the video, shot by Nara Avakian of Nara’s Room (my fav NYC band right now). I wrote it right before I started tracking some songs at the Headroom with my friend/producer Sam Acchione and I sent him this demo pretty last minute. We were both stoked on it and ended up shelving one of my other demos and this was the very first song we worked on. The ever-groovy Craig Hendrix smacks the drum racks on this one.”
‘Felicity’ is out now.
