Lawrence Hart unveils driving new single ‘Living Without U’ and announces mixtape Asking For A Friend

Lawrence Hart, the electrifying UK-based DJ, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, unleashes his pulsating new single ‘Living Without U.’ It’s the high-octane first preview of his upcoming 12-track mixtape Asking For A Friend, due November 14 via Domino’s Double Six imprint.
‘Living Without U’ marks a sonic shift for Hart, who leans into a harder, faster, and more club-focused direction. The track is fortified with elements of UK bass and post-dubstep, balancing its upbeat, high-energy production with emotionally charged lyrics. Its pitch-shifted vocal pulses against a sharp, throbbing melodic synth, crafting a sound that is both vulnerable and powerful on the dancefloor.
Hart explains:
“I wanted to make something for the club, faster, more stripped back, exploring sounds and ideas that satisfy the more techy side of my writing. It still encompasses that vulnerable/emotional side but in a much tougher vehicle. I’ve enjoyed writing at faster tempo and focusing more on sonics. It was also lovely to put some collabs on there [NTS & Rinse resident Giulia Tess, rising producer Meg Ward, fellow multi-instrumentalist Mera Bhai] which ended up fitting in perfectly on Asking For A Friend.”
Fans won’t have long to wait for more—Asking For A Friend arrives November 14, just days after Hart’s headline live show at Hackney’s Oslo on November 11.
