Bug Teeth announce debut album Micrographia and share new single ‘Warp and Weft II’

Leeds-based band Bug Teeth have announced their long-awaited debut album Micrographia, set for release on November 21 via State51, alongside the unveiling of their new single ‘Warp & Weft II.’
Produced by Joel Anthony Patchett (King Krule, The Orielles), ‘Warp & Weft II’ showcases Bug Teeth’s ability to balance intricate dream-pop atmospheres with expansive psychedelic textures. The track compresses and releases with a hypnotic ebb and flow, shifting from Kikagaku Moyo-inspired psychedelia to triumphant, soaring dream-pop.
PJ Johnson (they/them) explains:
“The song explores how my relationship with my mum has changed in my memory since she died. I imagine us closer than we actually were.”
Micrographia draws inspiration from Robert Hooke’s 17th century scientific text of the same name, focusing on life’s small details amidst larger struggles. The album reflects PJ Johnson’s processing of grief following the sudden loss of their mother in 2021, weaving together elements of dream-pop, hauntological indie, ambient, psychedelia, and breakcore into otherworldly soundscapes.
Alongside the single and album news, Bug Teeth have also announced their first UK headline tour. The run kicks off November 26 in Bristol and includes stops in Birmingham, London, and a hometown finale at Leeds’ Brudenell Social Club. With their reputation for expansive live shows, Bug Teeth are set to make Micrographia a landmark moment in their evolution.
