Dylan Henner returns with dreamlike single from Star Dream FM

UK producer Dylan Henner announces his new album Star Dream FM, arriving October 17 via Phantom Limb, and shares its luminous lead single ‘We Walked All the Way to the Lake and the Water Was So Still We Jumped in Naked.’
A glistening, choral-laced ambient track, the single captures the nostalgia and wonder of youth, evoking long summer days, impulsive adventures, and the thrill of freedom. Its shimmering textures and serene pacing mirror the vivid imagery of its title, pulling listeners into a moment suspended in time. Star Dream FM is framed as a fictional radio broadcast of memories from Henner’s own adolescence, blending ambient synthesis, marimba, digital choir, processed vocals, and field recordings to reflect on the fleeting space between childhood wonder and adult responsibility.
“This song is about the joyful and innocent goofiness of the endless summer when you turned 17. It’s about the love and freedom you find with your friends—making stupid decisions and sharing stupid jokes. About the kind of existential boredom that yields beautiful ideas, like walking to the lake and skinny dipping when you get there. About the precipice of adulthood not yet passed.”
‘We Walked All the Way to the Lake and the Water Was So Still We Jumped in Naked’ is out now.
