Exclusive Premiere: Mappe Of shares new single + video for ‘Terraforming Moons’

Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist Tom Meikle, known as Mappe Of, has released ‘Terraforming Moons,’ the latest single and video from his forthcoming full-length album Afterglades, due September 19 via Paper Bag Records.
Built on Mappe Of’s intricate arrangements and atmospheric production, ‘Terraforming Moons’ serves as both an emotional anchor and a sonic climax for Afterglades. The track meditates on the lengths one will go to protect and care for the people they love, placing deeply personal experience within an expansive fictional setting.
Meikle explains, ‘Terraforming Moons’ is a cathartic love letter:
“This one is about the measures we’ll take to ensure the health and safety of the people we love. A few years ago, my partner got really sick. It lasted a couple of years, and there were a lot of unanswered questions. I felt helpless, despite doing everything I could to make things better. I thought there was something romantic and terrifying about the idea of going as far as terraforming a planet to create the right conditions for a person you love to live.”
Afterglades arrives September 19 via Paper Bag Records. Mappe Of is set to perform two upcoming shows: September 26 at La Sotterenea in Montreal as part of POP Montreal, and October 9 at TD Music Hall in Toronto for the official album release show.
