Alice Phoebe Lou returns with ‘Pretender,’ a confident and emotionally vulnerable new single released today alongside the announcement of her upcoming sixth album, Oblivion, out October 24 via Nettwerk Music Group.

Featuring self-assured vocals and acoustic textures, ‘Pretender’ leans into Lou’s signature stripped-back, intimate style. It’s an ode to embracing imperfection and letting go of past insecurities, underlined by delicate instrumentation that invites listeners deep into her inner world.

“A loving ode to my younger self — reflecting on who I am and how hard I’ve worked to love her. The way I once used confidence as a shield to mask my insecurities has transformed into allowing my walls to come down as I can finally bask in who I am without the fear of being seen.”

Oblivion collects archival songs written over the last decade, many of which were set aside during Lou’s five-band-record run. The album promises a minimalist and heartfelt journey through her personal evolution, created with what she describes as “love and playfulness.”

With ‘Pretender,’ Alice Phoebe Lou continues to evolve into her most authentic self, laying the foundation for what promises to be her most personal and resonant album yet.
