Alex Fernet leans into retro melancholy on new single ‘Hey Lady’

Alex Fernet returns with his third and final single, ‘Hey Lady,’ ahead of the release of his upcoming album Modern Night, due out September 26th via Bronson Recordings.
Following ‘Sunlight Vampires’ and ‘The Nightdrive,’ ‘Hey Lady’ offers a more intimate side of Fernet’s post-funk world. Where the previous singles introduced recurring characters and moody nocturnal scenes, this latest track is a whispered confession—romantic but jaded, steeped in 1980s synth-pop melancholy. The production evokes a crackling VHS tape left too long in a dashboard car, pairing analog textures with cinematic emotional depth.
With ‘Hey Lady,’ Alex Fernet adds emotional depth to his upcoming record, completing a trio of singles that set the stage for Modern Night’s release this fall.
