Laveda rages against digital burnout on new single ‘Cellphone’

NYC-based shoegaze outfit Laveda has unleashed their latest single ‘Cellphone,’ a gritty, emotionally-charged track pulled from their upcoming third album Love, Darla, out September 12, 2025, via Bar/None Records.
‘Cellphone’ arrives as a cathartic anthem for the digitally fatigued. The track’s razor-sharp edges, dissonant guitars, and unfiltered lyrics channel a raw frustration with online culture and the endless scroll of modern life. It follows Laveda’s lead single ‘Heaven,’ continuing the band’s evolution toward darker, noisier territory. The song’s origin traces back to a jam session in Los Angeles with longtime collaborator Dylan Sky, featuring lyrics that explore identity, disconnection, and the desire to break free from the screens we’re tethered to.
Fans can catch Laveda live on their current summer tour, with shows across the East Coast and Midwest, including a performance at Austin’s Levitation 2025 on September 26, where they’ll support The Dandy Warhols at Mohawk. Full tour details are available on the band’s LinkTree.
‘Cellphone’ is now available to stream on all major platforms.
