100%WET releases new single ‘Leave It’ ahead of debut album release
Danish duo 100%WET return with their latest single ‘Leave It,’ a hypnotic fusion of shoegaze, drum’n’bass, and emotionally charged songwriting. The track arrives alongside the announcement of their self-titled debut album, 100%WET, set for release on May 16th via Crunchy Frog Recordings.
Described by the band as “hypergaze,” ‘Leave It’ blends dreamy, soft vocals from collaborator Amalie Hannibal Petri with grunge-tinged riffs and pulsing breakbeats. The song’s layered production features persistent drones and phaser-laden textures, culminating in a vaporwave-inspired down-pitching effect that mirrors the emotional shift of letting go. Lyrically, ‘Leave It’ serves as a sonic release—exorcising emotions that no longer serve while carrying an undercurrent of nostalgia and renewal.
Jakob Birch and Casper Munns, the creative force behind 100%WET explain:
“This track plays with contrast. It’s nostalgic, but also about moving on. The groove feels loose and baggy, but the production is sharp and intentional. That kind of push and pull—between past and future, chaos and control—is a huge part of what excites us musically.”
