Wishy unveils dreamy new single ‘Fly’ ahead of upcoming EP
Wishy has returned with ‘Fly,’ the lead single from their forthcoming EP Planet Popstar, set for release on April 25 via Winspear.
‘Fly’ encapsulates Wishy’s blend of dreamy nostalgia and genre-fluid experimentation. With shimmering guitars, layered vocals, and an uplifting melody, the song offers a sense of weightlessness, mirroring its lyrical themes of gratitude, love, and embracing the present. Nina Pitchkites’ ethereal vocals guide the track, complementing the lush production and warm instrumentation that recalls the early 2000s indie pop landscape.
Pitchkites shares:
“This song conveys a general theme of enjoying the present, being in love, and not taking yourself too seriously. Me, Kevin, and Steve Marino co-wrote this song around the same time we wrote the track “Triple Seven”. It was one of several demos that Steve brought to the table for us to toy with.”
With ‘Fly’ leading the way, Planet Popstar is shaping up to be an exciting new chapter for Wishy. Planet Popstar is set for release on April 25 via Winspear.
