HUNNY BUZZ embraces nostalgia on new single ‘Maisy’

Bristol-based indie-rock band HUNNY BUZZ kicks off the year with ‘Maisy,’ a sentimental new single taken from their second EP, Growing Pains.
Built on nostalgia and deep-rooted friendship, ‘Maisy’ tells the story of two childhood best friends who, despite years of separation due to university and touring, find their way back to one another. Now reunited and living together in Bristol, Maisy Burt and frontwoman Lydia Read’s bond serves as the inspiration for the song. Through evocative storytelling and a bold burst of energy, Read captures the weight of young adulthood—navigating relationships, modern love, and lingering emotions from teenage heartbreak.
Reflecting on the song’s meaning, HUNNY BUZZ shares:
“‘Maisy’ takes you on the nostalgic journey of the love between 2 childhood best friends. The memories they had as children and the connection they have always had, no matter how far apart. After years of separation due to university and touring with a band. Maisy Burt and frontwoman, Lydia Read have now been reunited and now live together in a small Redland Flat, Bristol. This track represents the loving friendship the two have for one another.”
‘Maisy’ is out now.
