Chase Petra shares fierce new single ‘A Bug’s Life’
Long Beach trio Chase Petra has unveiled ‘A Bug’s Life,’ the first single from their upcoming album Lullabies for Dogs, set to release on March 7, 2025, via Wax Bodega.
‘A Bug’s Life’ is an unflinching anthem of defiance, embracing anger and rejecting societal expectations of politeness in the face of mistreatment. With biting lyrics and an unapologetically raw energy, the song channels the frustrations of refusing to play the role of a passive victim. The aggressive tone is complemented by Chase Petra’s signature blend of alt-rock and emo-pop, showcasing their evolution while staying true to their roots.
The band states:
“This song is a declaration. One in which I refuse to be the perfect victim, unmarred by anger, or god forbid, agency… Because I am not a punching bag, and I don’t know why so many people have forgotten that I’ve got fists too. Cheers to being a bug.”
With ‘A Bug’s Life,’ Chase Petra delivers a bold and cathartic statement, setting the tone for what promises to be a deeply personal and sonically diverse album.
