Red Ribbon’s new single ‘Gang Star’ is a fierce prelude to her upcoming album

With her latest single ‘Gang Star,’ Red Ribbon’s Emma Danner delivers a raw, unfiltered track that encapsulates both defiance and catharsis.
The making of ‘Gang Star’ began with Danner playing on Elliott Smith’s ES-330 guitar, a symbolic start to a song rooted in emotional intensity and boldness. The track captures Danner’s journey through heartbreak, unraveling inhibitions, and embraces themes of vulnerability, anger, and desire.
She explains:
“I never felt like I could write about sex and drugs until recently. I don’t care anymore which is nice. I’ve always had fun being deviant, and I’m tired of censoring my art because of my shame, or guilt, or whatever this feeling is.”
‘Gang Star’ is the final glimpse into her forthcoming self-titled album, out this Friday via Danger Collective Records, produced by Rob Schnapf.
