Manchester’s The Accident Group releases new single ‘Go Way (Please Come Back)’

Produced by Seadna McPhail at Airtight Studios in South Manchester, this DIY guitar-pop gem promises to be a catchy delight.
Renowned for their keen observations of modern life and their ability to inject fun into the bleakness of contemporary Britain, The Accident Group has garnered praise for their infectious energy and razor-sharp lyricism. Today, the Manchester-based band shares their latest single, ‘Go Way (Please Come Back).’ The track spins a tale of heartbreak and regret, with witty spoken excerpts from a dramatic comedy penned by the band’s own George Unitt (guitarist/vocals). Fizzing synths, infectious choruses, and moments of vulnerability blend seamlessly to create a memorable musical experience.
Reflecting on the track, George Unitt remarks:
“‘Go Away (Please Come Back)’ is a classic tale of love lost. The narrator is trying to save face by pretending to not be arsed that their partner has left him and moved away, but moments of vulnerability keep slipping out. I think it’s really funny too, it’s a good and proper Accident Group song. The breakdown section features snippets of a comedy play I wrote that was performed in Manchester — Ella and Will act magnificently. Maybe should have got them in the show originally!”
‘Go Way (Please Come Back)’ is out now on all streaming services.
