Her Skin explores yearning and frustration in new single ‘Karen’s Couch’

Italian singer-songwriter Her Skin (Sara Ammendolia) is back with another new single, follow-up to January’s ‘Practical Magic.’
Described as “captivating from the first listen,” Her Skin’s latest single, ‘Karen’s Couch’ finesses a catchy melody that builds in intensity before exploding into a liberating chorus. Her Skin’s signature crystal-clear vocals are joined by driving guitars that create a sense of urgency throughout the track.
This new track marks a bit of a departure for Her Skin’s sound. While still maintaining the dreamlike quality of her previous work, ‘Karen’s Couch’ injects a dose of intensity and grit, showcasing a more lively and defined sound.
According to Ammendolia, the song’s inspiration is personal:
“I wrote ‘Karen’s Couch’ literally for a boy I kissed in Texas on our friend Karen’s couch, but I guess it’s a song about falling in love with someone that is not ready to fall in love with you, who’s not gonna give you what you need, who is still thinking about their ex.”
‘Karen’s Couch’ looks set to be another strong addition to Her Skin’s growing catalog.
