Known for her distinctive electronic-infused pop sound, Dejey’s career has seen remarkable growth and attention over the past year, solidifying her status as an independent artist to watch.

South London’s rising alt-pop sensation, Lauren Dejey, delivers a burst of energy with her latest single, ‘Nothing Ever Really Matters.’ The song captures the essence of falling in love with a best friend and navigates through the uncertainty of whether to take the leap or keep things as they are. Written during a spontaneous moment in the studio with her friend Max, the track emerged organically during a power cut, veering from their original plan to finalize another song.

Here’s Dejay discussing the track:

“This track encapsulates what it feels like to fall in love with your best friend. The moments of not knowing if it’s all in your head or if you should take the jump and see where it could lead. Learning to let go of control because in the best way, nothing really matters anyway! I wrote it with my friend Max (one I don’t have a crush on) during a power cut at the studio. We were supposed to finalise another song but ended up writing this!”

‘Nothing Ever Really Matters’ is out now.
