3 New Albums Out This Week You Should Listen to Now: The Veils, The Lathums, and slowthai
There’s so much good music out in the ether that sometimes it’s difficult to parse through all of it. Every week The Daily Music Report will do the hard work for you and highlight the best releases available on streaming services.
This week we’re highlighting new music from The Veils, The Lathums, and slowthai.
The Veils – . . . And Out Of The Void Came Love
After a 7 year hiatus, Finn Andrews and The Veils have returned to the fold to release their double LP … And Out Of The Void Came Love. The follow-up to 2016’s Total Depravity is an epic 15-track endeavor designed to be listened to in two sittings with a short break in the middle, or as Andrews instructs: “Make a coffee or smoke a cigarette – but don’t mow the lawn or go to the movies or something, that takes too long.”
Standout Songs: Time, No Limit of Stars, Undertow, Bullfighter (Hand of God), The Pearl (Part II), Someday My Love Will Come
The Lathums – From Nothing To A Little Bit More
The Lathums’ long-awaited second studio album is finally here. The Wigan 4-piece has followed up 2021’s How Beautiful Life Can Be with an 11-track album deserving of the hype. The album is packed with noteworthy tracks that highlight their musical evolution and refined sound.
Standout Songs: Struggle, Say My Name, Sad Face Baby, Turmoil
slowthai – UGLY
Released March 3rd via Interscope / Method Records, slowthai’s third LP UGLY is a fusion of rap, alt-rock, and electronica made especially for himself. The result is a collection of tracks that defy any specific genre and highlight an artist with the freedom to create what he wants.
Standout Songs: Selfish, Feel Good, Fuck It Puppet
