Yo La Tengo – This Stupid World
Sixteen albums in, and one would expect any band to rest on their laurels. But not indie rockers, Yo La Tengo. On This Stupid World, the band not only reinvents themselves, but they do it on one of their most enjoyable albums in a decade. Creative and calculating, This Stupid World will serve as an anchor for years to come.
Standout Songs: Fallout, Aseltine, This Stupid World
Paramore – This Is Why
American rock stalwarts Paramore have released their sixth studio album. Entitled This Is Why, their latest effort is a bold step that reaches out in new directions. As the band’s first record in six years, the follow-up to After Laughter needed to be a bold statement. And This Is Why serves that purpose and more. Buoyed by three singles (‘This Is Why,’ ‘The News,’ and C’est Comme Ça), the album plays to the band’s strengths and examines new sounds in the process.
Standout Songs: This Is Why, The News, C’est Comme Ça, Figure 8, Crave
