3 New Albums Out This Week You Should Listen to Now: Stereolab, Yungblud, and Kenny Beats
There’s so much good music out in the ether that sometimes it’s difficult to parse through all of it. Every week The Daily Music Report will do the hard work for you and highlight the best releases available on streaming services.
This week we’re highlighting new music from Stereolab, Yungblud, and Kenny Beats.
Stereolab – Pulse Of The Early Brain [Switched On Volume 5]
Pulse Of The Early Brain [Switched On Volume 5] is the London avant-pop band’s fifth (and likely last) compilation album that collects rare EPs, singles, and stray comp tracks dating back to the band’s inception. Noted as “possibly the final edition” by the band, the career-spanning track list covers songs from 1992 to 2008. Thirty years later it seems as though the archives have become empty.
Standout Songs: Simple Headphone Mind, Trippin’ With The Birds, Robot Riot, Magne-Music – Remastered

Yungblud – Yungblud
Dominic Richard Harrison, known professionally as Yungblud, has released his follow-up to 2020’s Weird!. Yungblud is a collection of 12 radio-friendly and refined tracks that seem to be teetering on the edge throughout the listen. Sonically, Yungblud is a departure from previous incarnations, but don’t let that detract you. It’s still the Yungblud you’ve come to know and love.
Standout Songs: Funeral, Memories (with WILLOW), Don’t Feel Like Feeling Sad Today, The Boy In The Black Dress

Kenny Beats – LOUIE
American record producer, audio engineer, and songwriter Kenny Beats has finally released his debut solo album. Known for producing artists like Freddie Gibbs, Vince Staples, Rico Nasty, Denzel Curry, Slowthai, and IDLES, Kenny Beats takes a step out on his own to create the 17-track collection. LOUIE is a soulful album drenched in obscure funky 70s soul samples.
