There’s so much good music out in the ether that sometimes it’s difficult to parse through all of it. Every week The Daily Music Report will do the hard work for you and highlight the best releases available on streaming services.

This week we’re highlighting new music from Knocked Loose, A. G. Cook, and Dehd.

Knocked Loose – You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To

Knocked Loose’s third studio album, You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To, was released on May 10, 2024, via Pure Noise Records. Produced by Drew Fulk, the album marks the band’s first featuring rhythm guitarist Nicko Calderon. The title originates from a comforting encounter on a plane, as vocalist Bryan Garris was reassured by an elderly woman amidst anxiety. The album, blending metalcore and hardcore punk, follows the EP A Tear in the Fabric of Life, released in 2021, where the band began to explore a more intentional songwriting approach. Notable singles from this album include ‘Suffocate’ (feat. Poppy), ‘Don’t Reach For Me,’ and ‘Blinding Faith.’

A. G. Cook – Britpop

Released via New Alias, Britpop is the third studio album by English music producer A. G. Cook. Following the announcement of his PC Music label ceasing new releases, the album is structured into three discs symbolizing past, present, and future artistic directions, akin to his debut 7G. Preceded by singles like ‘Silver Thread Golden Needle’ and ‘Soulbreaker,’ tracks from the album were teased in mixes before its release. Conceptualized during the COVID-19 lockdowns of 2020 while Cook resided in Montana with partner Alaska Reid, the album explores a sense of alienation and British identity. Each disc of Britpop delves into different sonic territories, with the final track paying homage to late producer Sophie.
