This week we’re highlighting new music from Willie Nelson, Kehlani, and Kelly Lee Owens.

Willie Nelson – A Beautiful Time

Willie Nelson has returned with his (deep breath) 97th studio album. Dating back to 1962, the 89-year-old has released a staggering 72 solo studio albums. A Beautiful Time is his fifth in a series that primarily discusses love, friendship, and lessons learned over the years. Produced by long-time collaborator and friend Buddy Cannon, the album includes original tracks by Nelson as well as covers of the Beatles and Leonard Cohen. A Beautiful Time is classic Willie Nelson.

Standout Songs: I’ll Love You Till The Day I Die, My Heart Was A Dancer, A Beautiful Time, Dusty Bottles, Tower Of Song

Kehlani – blue water road

Kehlani has returned with her third studio album, blue water road. The follow-up to 2020’s It Was Good Until It Wasn’t is a tender, low-key affair that sees the Oakland native’s vocals take center stage. The album covers 13 tracks and is quite possibly her most personal to date. Kehlani recently spoke regarding the album, “blue water road is a destination in my mind. I’m giving everyone access. It’s an emotional journey, a sexual journey, and a spiritual journey. To me, the album is like a glasshouse. It’s light, transparent, and the sun is shining right through it.”

Standout Songs: little story, wish i never, up at night (feat. Justin Bieber), altar

Kelly Lee Owens – LP.8

Welsh producer/vocalist Kelly Lee Owens has returned with her third album ironically entitled LP.8. The album alternates between ethereal atmospheric arrangements with softer, tender moments to tracks with rougher, harsh beats. The lyrics are minimal throughout. Expect instrumental layering that creates a dreamy, ambient space that at times borders on the chaotic and visceral. This album has it all.

Standout Songs: Anadlu, S.O (2), Olga, Nana Piano, Sonic 8
