Beach House – Once Twice Melody

Beach House is back with their first album since 2018’s 7 and their 8th overall. The album, Once Twice Melody is a sprawling affair that spans 18 tracks over 4 distinct chapters. On it, the Baltimore duo supply a multitude of fascinating and delightful moments that are second to none. And at almost an hour and a half of music, the album has something for every Beach House fan. As for the rollout, it happened gradually. The first chapter was released on November 10, 2021, the second on December 8, 2021, and the third on January 19, 2022. The final chapter was released on February 18, 2022, all through Sub Pop. Once Twice Melody is the band’s first self-produced record and deserves to be on your short-list of albums to listen to.

Curren$y & The Alchemist – Continuance

2022 has its first Alchemist-produced rap album. The album, a collab with Curren$y, is titled, Continuance. As the name suggests, the duo has linked up in the past, namely back in 2011 on their critically-acclaimed Covert Coup. Continuance is heavy on smooth and chill beats that see Curren$y flow over them with a steady silky sound. The remarkable feature list includes Boldy James, Babyface Ray, Styles P, Larry June, Havoc, and Curren$y’s old partner Wiz Khalifa.

Tame Impala – The Slow Rush Deluxe Box Set

Initially released in February of 2020, the Grammy-nominated Tame Impala album, The Slow Rush was Kevin Parker’s follow-up to the band’s Currents album in 2015. Today the Australian band has released The Slow Rush Deluxe Box Set and boasts some killer B-sides and remixes of album highlights. The 8-track album includes previously released remixes from Lil Yachty, Four Tet, and Blood Orange. Additional remixes from NTS and Maurice Fulton also accompany the album. And standout B-sides included in the deluxe box set — ‘The Boat I Row’, ‘No Choice,’ and ‘Patience’ round out the collection.
