There’s so much good music out in the ether that sometimes it’s difficult to parse through all of it. Every week The Daily Music Report will do the hard work for you and highlight the best releases available on streaming services.

This week we’re highlighting new music from Green Day, Sleater-Kinney, and BUNT.

Green Day – SAVIORS

Arriving 20 years after their politically charged American Idiot album, Green Day’s fourteenth studio album, Saviors (stylized as SAVIORS), has marked a significant departure from their previous release, Father of All Motherfuckers (2020). Produced by Rob Cavallo and Green Day, the album is made up of 15 tracks clocking in just over 46 minutes. Covering diverse topics ranging from disease, war, inequality, influencers, yoga retreats, the alt-right, dating apps, masks, and more, SAVIORS showcases the band’s collective spirit of being together for 30 years—all with the attitude we’ve come to expect.

Standout Songs: The American Dream Is Killing Me, Look Ma, No Brains!, Dilemma, Strange Days Are Here To Stay

Sleater-Kinney – Little Rope

Little Rope, Sleater-Kinney’s eleventh studio album by the American rock band, was released on January 19, 2024, on Loma Vista. Produced by John Congleton, the album is their first in three years and features their signature blend of punk, indie rock, and grunge. With half of the record written prior to Brownstein’s mother’s death, the remaining tracks were “approached with grief hanging heavy.” As a result, Little Rope deals with topics including “global crisis and personal tragedy.”
