todd modern captures the quiet ache of digital isolation on ‘TV’

Liverpool-based lo-fi, slo-rock artist todd modern has released his third single, ‘TV’—a fuzzy, shoegaze-infused track about loneliness, longing, and the search for real connection in a hyper-connected world.
Out now on all streaming platforms, ‘TV’ leans into sonic textures inspired by the likes of Sorry, Pavement, My Bloody Valentine, and lo-fi legends such as Sparklehorse and The Velvet Underground. It’s a slacker rock anthem that hums with distortion, swells with emotion, and distills the alienation of modern life into one bittersweet observation: “who would’ve thought I needed someone just to watch TV with.”
As with previous singles ‘yyours‘ and ‘break the glass <333,’ ‘TV’ builds slowly, both musically and thematically. What starts as a simple meditation (“people move slow and cars moving faster on their own”) evolves into a broader commentary on life in a world where everything moves too quickly except the people trying to live in it.
‘TV’ is out now.
